Title

A note on “A Novel Improved Accuracy Function for Interval-Valued Pythagorean Fuzzy Sets and its Applications in the Decision-Making Process”

Abstract

This work aims to understand and observe all the existing accuracy functions that help in finding the ranking order of the interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy numbers (IVPFNs) which leads to the best selection among all the available alternatives. The deep study of all these existing accuracy functions cleared that the existing methods have some shortcomings and are failing to compare IVPFNs which affects the correct selection process in all decision-making problems. These observations about the accuracy functions of the IVPFNs have been illustrated with the help of a well-defined example and hence conclude that all these existing accuracy functions are not able to rank the alternatives appropriately. Therefore, to propose a valid accuracy function for comparing IVPFNs for selecting a better alternative among all the other alternatives in multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems is still an open challenging research problem.
